It wasn’t that long ago that Palm Beach Mall, faced with stiff competition from other shopping centers, was forced to close its doors. Many people wondered if the area on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. in West Palm Beach could be successfully redeveloped. Two years ago, the remnants of the mall (just three stores by this point) were bulldozed and construction began on the Palm Beach Outlets, and the area began to transform.

The 100-store outlet mall opened on Valentine’s Day to much fanfare. The area is still growing; Palm Beach Outlets’ “phase two” is still being built. Once it is finished this autumn, ten big-box stores and ten smaller specialty stores will be added to the mix. Some of the additions slated for phase two include Whole Foods, Nordstrom Rack, Pier One Imports and Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Palm Beach Outlets boasts 400,000 square feet of shopping space. On the north end of the expansive shopping center sits anchor outlets Forever 21 and Off Fifth (a Saks Fifth Avenue discount store), along with a trolley stop and a valet service sponsored by AutoNation Cadillac West Palm Beach. At the southern end, a cluster of anchors are situated on the west end, including Tilly’s surf and skate wear, the Guess factory store and the Express factory store; these stores are across the way from the Reebok and Rockport outlet stores and the Dress Barn outlet.

Other anchor stores include Calvin Klein, Ann Taylor, Tommy Hilfiger and the Nike factory store on the west end, the J. Crew factory store and the Ann Taylor Loft outlet in the interior, and Under Armour, Banana Republic, the Gap Outlet and American Eagle Outfitters on the east end.

The Palm Beach Outlets are located at 1751 Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard in West Palm Beach. Opening hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. For the mall management offices, call (561) 515-4400. Directions to the Outlets are as follows:
