Just two days before Cher’s sold-out “Dressed to Kill” concert at the BB&T Center, Lips–the ultimate in drag dining, will present an exclusive dinner show in her honor as a launch party to the 11th Annual SMART Ride (Southern Most AIDS/HIV Ride 2014). Lips’ “Never Say Farewell–Tribute to Cher” will take place Thursday, May 15 at 7 p.m. and benefit SMART Ride 2014, a two-day, 165-mile bicycle ride from Miami to Key West planned for this November.

Cher fans and SMART Ride supporters will experience an entirely exclusive show reliving decades of Cher’s popular music. Fan favorite songs such as Way of Love, Bang Bang, All I Really Want to Do, Gypsy, Tramps and Thieves, Take Me Home, I Found Someone, Half Breed and Dark Lady will bring back great memories and also help to celebrate Cher’s upcoming birthday on May 20. The show, hosted by Nicolette, will include several of Lips’ leading ladies, including Cher look-a-like performances by Alexis Couture, Shelly Michaels and Franchesque Richards.

“Lips is proud to give back to the community and especially to support SMART Ride, which donates 100% of proceeds to local AIDS care service organizations,” said Yvonne Lamé, Lips founder and co-owner. “Cher coming to town is a great reason to celebrate and each of our divas is ready to put her own unique twist on Cher’s great music for this amazing cause.”

A $10 show cover charge, plus a $15 food minimum and additional beverage costs apply for this special show. All show cover charges will go directly to SMART Ride.

In addition to the Las Vegas style diva impersonator show, guests will enjoy Lips’ oh so drag-a-licious menu with tasty salads, appetizers, entrees and desserts.

“This is an exciting way to kick-off our annual bicycle ride, which raises much needed funds for those affected by HIV/AIDS,” said Glen Weinzimer, founder of SMART Ride. “The generosity of Lips and other community partners will help us meet and exceed last year’s fundraising milestone.”

About SMART Ride

Founded in 2003, SMART Ride (Southern Most AIDS/HIV Ride) is a two-day, 165-mile fully supported bicycle ride that travels from Miami to Key West. SMART Ride’s ongoing journey is to improve lives of those already affected by HIV/AIDS and to fund education, awareness and prevention to help reduce the new incidences of infection. Over the past decade, SMART Ride has raised more than $5.3 million, and 100% of funds raised by its participants are given to AIDS Service Organizations throughout the State of Florida to provide direct services to those living with, affected by or at risk for this disease. Supporters are encouraged to visit TheSMARTRide.org to become involved as a rider, crew, sponsor or donor.
