Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour
, a theatrical production by Cirque du Soleil, returns to Florida after a successful two-city appearance back in 2012. One of the top ten highest grossing tours of all time, the Immortal World Tour returns to Florida with two shows in Tampa at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on May 20 and 21, and two shows in South Florida at the BB&T Center in Sunrise on May 23 and 24.

The Immortal World Tour was written and directed by Jamie King. A former dancer, he first toured with Michael Jackson during his Dangerous World Tour in 1992 and 1993. The Tour is produced in partnership between King, the Cirque du Soleil traveling circus entertainment troupe, and the Estate of Michael Jackson. The tour first debuted in Montreal in October 2011, nearly two and a half years after Michael Jackson’s death.

The Immortal World Tour combines Cirque du Soleil’s dancing and acrobatics with the songbook of Michael Jackson, including his music as a child and teenager with The Jackson 5. Over two dozen of Jackson’s songs are heard during the production, including worldwide hits we all know and love from his legendary albums Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, and HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I. All the while, aerial contortion, dance choreography, and other routines are performed by 49 different acrobats and dancers, some of whom performed with Michael Jackson when he was alive. The show makes sure that viewers get to listen to and feel the music as Michael would have felt it, and his global messages of love, peace and unity are prevalent throughout.

Kevin Grove, SSE Vice President of Event Programming at the BB&T Center, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Cirque du Soleil back to BB&T Center for two memorable days for the Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour. This show is a uniquely special experience, combining the music of the legendary Michael Jackson with the world-famous choreography of Cirque du Soleil. Fans from South Florida and around the world who attend will be thrilled.”
