Nephew of the Week: Devin Corin

Devin has one of those sweet and innocent smiles that you know is a cover up for how wild and fun he is! What a dry sense of humor; he will keep you laughing all day.

Just for Laughs: 1940’s Lesbian P-rn?

There was a famous lesbian couple in Tampa. They were also very good friends of ours. Bobbie and Kay were a fun-loving couple and were an inspiration to us all, with a crazy, fun, and sometimes naughty sense of humor. There was a book Bobbie gave us years ago. Every time Bobbie would show this book off, she would have everybody laughing hysterically! We could hear Bobbie laughing while Miss Kay said, “Oh Bobbie, you’re so naughty!” Caution, it was X-rated! LOL LOL!

You Just Can’t Make This Stuff Up!

Two hot guys in their 30s, dressed in designer clothes, walked up to the patio bar. OK, this sounds like a beginning to a great old joke. The first guy says to me, “Don’t you think my boyfriend is HOT?!” I just smiled and said, “You’re both HOT!”

Then this taller gent actually says to me and seven other nearby bar customers… “I just met him online at EasyBottoms.com!” I gave him my fake laugh, high eyebrow, and thought, “WOW, the things total strangers tell bartenders!” Then the second guy overhears and says, “For a first date, it is not going well. Actually I think it’s over.”  He then walks out.

The first guy says to me “What an impersonal bitch, I’m glad this didn’t go any further.” OMG…I smiled and said, ” Would you like a double?”

Una Voce in Ireland!

Una Voce: The Florida Men’s Chorale will travel to Dublin, Ireland and join 80 other international choruses to perform at Various Voices Festival 2014 from June 13th to June 16th. This diverse musical event has attracted choirs from eighteen nations. Una Voce is one of just five United States choirs making the journey to the Emerald Isle for this inspiring musical event. They are looking forward to representing the Tampa Bay area when they perform for an audience of international singers and guests! And, they are eager to hear the voices of our fellow European and African brothers and sisters in song.

Successfully pulling off an endeavor like this trip abroad takes enthusiasm, planning and dedication. Una Voce expects to raise funding to pay for each attending member’s festival registration fee and assist with accommodations expenses in Dublin. They have held several special events in the Tampa Bay community to promote their excursion across the pond and raise funds, while entertaining audiences both great and small along the way.

With just a short time left before they leave, they are working diligently to reach their financial goals. They are not swimming in the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow yet though! So they are asking for your help!

They would be grateful for your contribution at any level. Individuals may contribute to Una Voce’s Various Voices 2014 Travel Fund by visiting www.Una-Voce.org and clicking on the Support Us tab at the top of the page. For more information, contact Tom Barker at Tom.Barker@Una-Voce.org
