The annual Miami Beach Bruthaz weekend started on Thursday and went through Sunday on South Beach. Once again this was a successful weekend and I would like to congratulate Ian and his entire team on a job well done. Friday night I started the night off seeing the fantastic show H2Ombre at the Adrienne Arsht Center. This show is hard to describe, but I will say it is original and amazing. Its only 1 hour, so I urge you to take time and see it. It’s at The Adrienne Arsht until August 31 when it goes on its world tour (flashes are not allowed so this is the best pic I could get). Later that night I finally had the chance to check out House, and Mark and Athena were not lying when they told me the place was amazing….it is! Congrats to Mark Lowe on sticking with his dream and making it come true! Also Friday night, Fresh Fridays at Hunters celebrated the birthday of their DJ Galaxy. Hunters seems to be getting busier every time I am there…Congrats to Mark and Patrick. Saturday night The Manor featured a Lolo’s Summer Fashion show with sexy models to show off their sexy new clothing. Later on La Puta Nota at Discotekka celebrated their 1 year anniversary. On Sunday, The Noche Latina Pageantry system had their 2nd annual BBQ and Pool Party and what a beautiful day they picked. Over 30 of the family members and friends attended (I chose this pic because I thought it was so much fun).

The daughter of one of Philadelphia’s most successful Irish Catholic families, she comes of age faced with the twin crises of the Great Depression and World War II. Fighting her world, both within and without, the girl with a “cute little talent” for numbers and the piano asserts herself in an era when women did so at great peril to themselves. Agnes does this with assistance – and opposition – from a rich variety of characters who touch her life in profound, surprising ways.

Broadway star Ryan Steele (Newsies, Matilda) makes his big screen debut as a young gay dancer in New York City in Alan Brown’s (Private Romeo) sensitive drama Five Dances, debuting on DVD July 29 from Wolfe Video. Shooting in and around a Soho dance studio, Brown and his longtime cinematographer Derek McKane capture the exhilaration and emotional turmoil of a small dance company with the intimacy and immediacy of a documentary. With dances staged by acclaimed choreographer Jonah Bokaer, the film focuses on a newly arrived 18-year-old Kansas innocent who discovers love, friendship and an awareness of his physical gifts during strenuous modern dance rehearsals. Brown assembled a striking cast of newcomers for Five Dances, including Ryan Steele, Reed Luplau, Catherine Miller, Kimiye Corwin, and Luke Murphy. The coming of age tale of an extraordinarily gifted young dancer recently arrived in New York City, Five Dances is a visually sensual glimpse of life and first love in the downtown contemporary dance world with a cast of five of New York’s most talented dancers and captures the emotional turbulence and creative excitement of a small dance company during the process of creation. Five dances has a runtime of 83 minutes and is not rated. Bonus features include Director’s Commentary and Deleted Scenes. Five Dances made its debut as the opening night film at the 2013 Dance on Camera Film Festival at Lincoln Center and is available from WolfeVideo.com for only $24.95.
