KING’S BOWL, ORLANDO

AUGUST 17, 1-3 P.M.

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) works tirelessly to further LGBT rights across the United States, including right here in Central Florida. The Central Florida chapter of HRC is organizing a mixer designed for people to meet, mingle and have fun while the HRC builds awareness and membership in the Orlando area.

This mixer is called the Orlando Disco Bowl, and over the the last four years, the Disco Bowl has become an annual fan favorite. This year the Orlando Disco Bowl will be held at King’s Bowl (8255 S. International Drive, Suite 120) on Sunday, August 17, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. After bowling, there will be an after party where people will have the chance to have lunch and talk with one another. Entertainment will also be provided this afternoon by the event’s hosts, comedic female impersonators Miss Sammy and Gidget Galore. These performers are well-known around town and can currently be seen at Hamburger Mary’s and Parliament House, respectively.

The cost to attend the Orlando Disco Bowl is $35 per person, or $135 for your own lane, which includes you and three of your friends. The prices quoted above also include two games of bowling at King’s Bowl, shoe rental, pizza and soda for lunch, and a twelve month membership to the Human Rights Campaign. Your membership will entitle you to such perks as four issues of HRC’s quarterly political magazine, “Equality,” as well as access to event information, volunteer opportunities, and ways for you to get involved in the political process through HRC right here in Central Florida.

Tickets are still available for purchase and you can reserve your spot by clicking “Buy Tickets” on the HRC’s dedicated event website, located at hrc.org/orlandobowl. Interested parties can register for their general admission or their very own lane, and they can also give an extra donation to the HRC if they would like to do so.

The Human Rights Campaign is the largest LGBT civil rights advocacy group in the United States, and has physical presence in twenty-four states and the District of Columbia. To “like” HRC Orlando and Central Florida on facebook, go to facebook.com/hrcorlando.
