Genesis-Health_logoThe people at Genesis Health Institute (1001 NE 26th St., Wilton Manors) call themselves leaders in anti-aging in South Florida, and considering their wide range of services and knowledgeable staff, it’s easy to see why they consider themselves above and beyond the rest in their field. Genesis is led by Dr. Ferdinand Cabrera, who has over 30 years of experience as a physician, and is a teacher at the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

Genesis’s services include bioidentical (natural) hormone treatments, such as hormone replacement therapies for both men and women, testosterone replacement, human growth hormone treatments, intravenous nutrition, the “vampire facelift,” Botox, JuvĂ©derm and other fillers, chemical peels and facials, vascular laser therapy, and laser hair removal.

Genesis-Health_copy1Genesis is perhaps most proud of their platelet-rich plasma (PRP) procedures. Platelet-rich plasma helps to stimulate and regrow cells in the body. PRP can be used in a multitude of procedures, such as the “vampire facelift,” the hair regrowth process, and acne and scar corrections. At Genesis rejuvenation via PRP is best showcased in a procedure called the P-shot. The “P” stands for “priapus,” which is Greek for “penis.” (There is a similar procedure for women called the O-shot, “O” short for “orgasm.”) This procedure has many benefits, such as improved erection, more sensitivity, a better orgasm, and an increase in penis length and girth.

Dr. Cabrera spoke to Hotspots about the P-shot in this interview.

Genesis-Health_copy3Who would benefit the most from the P-shot?

The procedure is especially beneficial for men who are having any sort of erectile function issues. Let me give you one example: for men who are on medicines for hypertension and diabetes, those medicines decrease blood flow to the penis, and these men have also noted that they don’t have the best erections, they have a decrease sensation, and there’s an absence of a strong orgasm.

Tell us what happens when a patient arrives for the P-shot procedure.

When the patient comes to the office, I take 20 cc’s of the patient’s blood and put it in a special kind of centrifuge that preserves the platelet-rich plasma. We then activate it with calcium. It makes the platelet-rich plasma very active. Then we apply a high-strength topical numbing gel, and then we get ready to inject the platelet-rich plasma into the penis. We inject the penis in five different points.

Genesis-Health_copy2What do you say to someone who is nervous about the injections?

Don’t panic! I put the numbing gel on the patient, and I always say, “If there’s any pain at any time during the procedure, you can stop it, you are free to go, and I will not charge.” My commitment is that the patient feels no pain. We use a combination of three high-strength numbing agents, and then I have my patients put on headphones, and they lay back…and that’s it. I usually notice that they have to ask me, “Oh, are you done?” Yes, we are done. It’s completely pain-free. If it caused pain, nobody would do it!

I am certified to train physicians nationwide in how to do the procedure. I have injected over fifty patients, and across the country there have been over 10,000 patients who have had this procedure done, and none of them had any side effects. Everyone was satisfied.

Please continue.

Genesis-Health_copy4Once the injections are done, within fifteen minutes, the patients are introduced to a vacuum pump, because once the platelet-rich plasma is injected into the spongy tissue of the penis, we need to then produce distension. So we teach the patient how to use the pump, and they will be using it for approximately six weeks. Most patients report an increase in the girth and the length of the penis, most often the girth.

What is undeniable is the erection quality and the sensation. We do follow-ups with the patient at two, four, and six weeks after the procedure. We tell the patients, “If you follow the protocol, and you are not satisfied, we’ll treat you again for free.” We’ve never had any complaints or needed to treat anyone again immediately after the first time. The results last from anywhere between a year and eighteen months.
