The Amazing Race Orlando

A Fundraiser for The Center

September 12

If you’re a fan of the CBS reality competition The Amazing Race, you may soon get your chance to compete in a smaller-scale version right here in Florida. The GLBT Community Center of CentralAmazingRaceOrlando Florida (The Center) is organizing an Orlando-centric version of the game to be played out across the city on Saturday, September 12. Eighteen teams of two will participate in the day-long game, and the winners will receive a big prize!

Before participating, each team must pledge to raise at least $1500 for The Center Orlando and they must turn in their donations by race day. As an incentive, there is a secret prize for the team that raises the most money for The Center, and we’ve been assured that it’s a very good one!

All the teams who have registered and turned in their donations will meet at a secret location at 8 a.m., and will get to open their clue envelopes at 9 a.m. Throughout the day, teams will go to twenty different destinations and will complete various tasks, some easy and some hard, just like the TV show. There will be roadblocks and U-turns as well, another nod to the TV show.

Whoever crosses the finish line first will be the winner! The winning team will receive a cruise for two abroad an upcoming cruise on Holland America Cruise Lines, leaving from Port Canaveral.

If you’d like to participate in The Amazing Race Orlando, register your team and start raising funds! You can donate yourself or ask family, friends or corporations to donate, supporting your team and The Center at the same time.
