Miami Symphony Orchestra Opens 27th Season at the Adrienne Arsht Center

Sunday, October 4

The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) opens up its twenty-seventh season with a rousing season opener consisting of classical favorites and original compositions. The season opener will take place at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts’ Knight Concert Hall on Sunday, October 4, beginning at 6 p.m.

Not only is MISO celebrating its 27th season, but MISO’s conductor, Eduardo Marturet, will be celebrating his tenth consecutive season as artistic director. The program will begin with MISO’s composer-in-residence, Tulio Cremisini, debuting his latest composition, called “Echoes.” From there, Maestro Marturet will lead the Symphony in one of the most fondly-remembered classical works, the “Unfinished Symphony” (Symphony in B Minor), by the prolific Austrian composer Franz Schubert. Afterwards, the Symphony will perform the dramatic and intense selection Symphony No. 4 in E Minor, Op. 98, by the 19th century German composer Johannes Brahms.

The 2015/16 season will continue with MISO’s Eduardo_Marturet_Dirigiendomost popular annual concert, “Ocean Drive in Vienna,” which will be performed at the Adrienne Arsht Center on Sunday, January 10, 2016. On Sunday, March 20, 2016, last season’s fan favorite pianist, Lola Astanova, will be joined by Victor Hugo Villena and Brev Sullivan for “Miami Rocks.” The season finale will also feature Astanova as conducted by Maestro Marturet.
