The Popular Music Festival Comes to Florida for the First Time
AmericanAirlines Arena, Miami
Saturday, November 7
iHeartRadio, the popular internet radio platform that aggregates music content from over 800 radio stations in the United States, has hosted the popular iHeartRadio Music Festival since 2011. Realizing the influence of, and high listening figures for, Latin music (mostly but not always sung in Spanish), the iHeartRadio corporation decided to spin off a festival that specifically catered to the Hispanic market. Begun in 2014, the festival was named “iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina.”
When he helped create the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina, John Sykes, the President of Entertainment Enterprises for iHeartRadio, remarked about the genre’s influence: “Latin music has shown incredible growth on iHeartRadio – so we decided to use the great format and cultural firepower of the iHeartRadio Music Festival to create a festival that celebrates these great artists and their music. Bringing this caliber of Hispanic artists together for a night of incredible performances will be an experience you can’t see anywhere else.” The inaugural event, held last year in Inglewood, California, was a big success, featuring music acts such as Ricky Martin, Pitbull, Prince Royce, and Daddy Yankee.
This year’s event is coming to Florida and the lineup is the biggest and best one yet. The second annual iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina will be held on Saturday, November 7 beginning at 8:30 p.m. at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami. The music festival will also be broadcast live on Yahoo! Live, on iHeartRadio-affiliated Spanish pop, tropical, regional Mexican and/or Spanish adult contemporary radio stations, and on the Spanish-language television network Telemundo.
