Xanadu comes to South Florida

“XANADU” Skates into The Broward Center for the Performing Arts
Slow Burn Theatre Company’s production of the hilarious roller skating musical adventure plays through Sunday, March 5.
Based on the 1980s cult movie classic, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, the far-out and funny tale about following your dreams features the chart-topping songs from the film composed by pop-rock legends Jeff Lynne and John Farrar including: “Magic,” “Suddenly,” “I’m Alive,” “Evil Woman,” “All Over the World” and, of course, “Xanadu.”

The cast features Lindsey Corey, Rick Pena, Larry Buzzeo, Lissa Grossman, Sharyn Peoples, Conor Walton, Elijah Word, Sabrina Gore and Emily Tarallo.
Slow Burn Theatre Company was recently nominated for a dozen Carbonell Awards for theatrical excellence including two for Xanadu director and choreographer Patrick Fitzwater. Music director Manny Schvartzman, sound designer Rich Szczublewski, lighting designer Thomas Shorrock, set designer Sean McClelland and costume designer Rick Pena are the creative team that brings back the sounds and fashions of the era.

Starting one hour prior to the performance and during intermission, sumptuous sandwiches, salads, snacks and desserts are available for purchase with convenient walk-up service. A full cash bar is also available.

Performance times are Thursday–Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
