The beginning of April in South Florida can only mean one thing: IT’S MIAMI BEACH GAY PRIDE! While the majority of the events surrounding the area’s largest pride event take place on Saturday and Sunday, things got kicked off earlier in the week with an official gay pride flag raising ceremony at Miami Beach City Hall, and the Miss Miami Beach Gay Pride contest both of which took place on Monday April 3. With tons of events happening from Thursday through Sunday, celebs like Ross Mathews and Bebe Rexha, and Elvis Duran on hand, and an amazing combination of sun, sand, and ocean,  Miami Beach Gay Pride has got something for everyone this weekend.

Thursday April 6

Pride Lights the Night

Lincoln Road and Pennsylvania (in front of the H&M)

8 to 9 p.m.

Miami Beach Gay Pride will pay tribute to the victims, families and friends of the PULSE Nightclub shooting by orchestrating “Pride Lights the Night” where buildings throughout the greater Miami area will light up awash in the colors of the Pride rainbow flag. “Pride Lights the Night” will #FlipTheSwitch with local Pulse survivor Mario Perez in a special ceremony at Lincoln Road and Pennsylvania (in front of the H&M) at 8.p.m. A rainbow-colored, 3D animated laser projection that will shoot out from the building over Lincoln Road kicking off the project which will take place after sunsets on April 7, 8 and 9, with all of the buildings participating Saturday night.

Friday April 7

VIP Reception

W Hotel South Beach (2201 Collins Ave, Miami Beach)

7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Join celebrity emcee Elvis Duran and the whole cast of the Y-100 “The Morning Show” to officially kick-off Pride around the beautiful pool deck at W South Beach. The evening will feature a special guest appearance by singer/songwriter Bebe Rexha. Music for the evening will be provided by the one and only DJ Tracy Young.  At the VIP Reception, Miami Beach Gay Pride will honor the 2017 Pride Marshals who are: Ross Mathews, Celebrity Grand Marshal, “Uncle” Johnny Pool, Advocate Marshal, and Liebe & Seth Gadinsky, Ally Marshals. Tickets are $80 in advance or $100 at the Door and include cocktails & light bites.

Saturday April 8

Pride Press Conference

Miami Beach Gay Pride Main Stage, Lummus Park

12 to 1 p.m.

Join Host Elvis Duran from Y-100’s “The Morning Show” as he dishes with our Marshals and special Pride guests. Spectator Q&A will also allow people in the audience to ask our special guests questions. Expected to drop by: Ross Mathews, Celebrity Grand Marshal, “Uncle” Johnny Pool, Advocate Marshal, Liebe and  Seth Gadinsky, Ally Marshals and Bebe Rexha, Headline Performer. This event is free and open to the public and is a chance for everyone to get the chance to interact with the celebrities who are helping make this an amazing weekend.

Miami Beach Gay Pride Saturday Festival

Lummus Park, Miami Beach (11th to 14th Street on Ocean Dr)

12 to 10 p.m.

Come out to the festival to enjoy all that Miami Beach Gay Pride has to offer. With a main stage as well as a Latin stage that will be featuring performances all day long, get ready to party SoBe style. Local and International DJs keep the fun going while you enjoy vendors from all walks of life, delicious food, and lots of eye candy. This event is free and open to the public. Cash bars will be available throughout the day. The festival will feature a family friendly area, women’s area, and lots of fun for everyone.

Urge: Love is Love

Score (1437 Washington Ave, Miami Beach)

10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Score Productions & Hilton Wolman present Urge: Love is Love featuring DJ/Producers Abel and Dani Toro. Urge has been one of Miami Beach’s hottest gay dance events for years and it makes its triumphant return as the official Saturday night party for Miami Beach Gay Pride. After you party the day away on the sands of Lummus Park, get ready to dance the night away at one of the best gay spots on the beach. The party won’t stop till 7 a.m.! Sunday April 9

Pride Parade Brunch Viewing Party at the Clevelander

Clevelander Hotel (1020 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach)

11:00am to 5:00pm

Enjoy the Parade from the Clevelander with your Emcee TP Lords. Come before the Parade to enjoy a brunch menu, DJ Joseph Anthony, Beer Pong and specialty drinks. The parade will be broadcast live on the main screen and all other TVs from 12-2 with Emcee TP Lords.

Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade

Ocean Drive from 5th – 15th Streets

12 to 2 p.m.

Don’t miss the fun and excitement as the Pride Parade starts at noon. Join everyone as the  parade marshals Ross Mathews, Uncle Johnny Pool, and Liebe and  Seth Gadinsky are honored while they make their way along Ocean Drive. Get ready for amazing floats, marching bands, and a who’s who of the region’s LGBT friendly politicians who will march in solidarity with our community.  Grand Stand seating will be available to enjoy the show between 11th and 12th streets on Ocean Drive. Arrive early to get your spot along Ocean Drive. Streets will be blocked off starting at 11:30 a.m. except for 10th Street. Once the Parade starts at noon, Ocean Drive will be closed and the only way to cross will be at 5th Street or 15th Street. Please no large bags or backpacks.

Miami Beach Gay Pride Sunday Festival

Lummus Park, Miami Beach (11th to 14th Street on Ocean Dr)

12 to 10 p.m.

The action really heats up after the parade as thousands of people flood Lummus Park for the gay event of the year in Maimi Beach.  At 2 p.m. host Elvis Duran will join other dignitaries to officially kick off the celebration and open the ceremonies. Local and International DJs keep the fun going while you enjoy vendors from all walks of life, delicious food, and lots of eye candy.  The festival will feature a special performance from Bebe Rexha, fireworks, as well as a special tribute to the artist Prince. This event is free and open to the public. Cash bars will be available throughout the day. The festival will feature a family friendly area, women’s area, and lots of fun for everyone.

Palace’s Annual Rock the Block Free Block Party

Palace (1200 Ocean Drive)

2:00pm to 11:00pm

Join the fun at Palace Bar’s Annual Rock the Block Party featuring an opening set by DJ Carlos Rojas followed by DJ Danny Verde! 12th Street will be closed down to traffic and the queens at Palace will take over for one of the bar’s most special events.

Hilton Wolman’s Salvation Pride ’17

The official after party for Miami Beach Gay Pride will once again take place at Score, one of the few remaining gay clubs on Miami Beach. Hilton Wolman’s Salvation Pride will feature music by Isaac Escalante as well as Hansell Leyva, two international DJs who Miami audiences will know well. Tickets available at urgemiami.com
