Florida Grand Opera Family Day at South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center is a fun-filled day for those new to the genre or seasoned opera aficionados. Come and explore the world of opera through hands-on activities, performances, interactive experiences, and the thrill of live theater starting at 10am. If you were a Smash aficionado like me, and are still mourning the loss of this show (Ok, it was cancelled a few years ago) then you can’t help but love Jeremy Jordan. Well if you do, or you just want to see a sexy and talented entertainer you can catch him tonight at the Parker Playhouse as part of the Broadway Concert Series with Seth Rudetsky. The show is at 8 p.m. with tickets starting at only $23.

Multi-talented artist, esteemed choreographer, dancer, theater director and writer Bill T. Jones brings his company to the Arsht Center for the very first time tonight at 8p.m. They present Analogy/Lance: Pretty aka The Escape Artist. In Part Two of the Analogy Trilogy, we meet Lance, whose battles with his own personal demons-drugs and excess-exposes us to another type of war.

A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, the winner of the 2014 Tony for Best Musical will premiere tonight at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. The show runs through Jan 21 with tickets starting at only $30, and tell the story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by eliminating the eight pesky relatives (all played by one fearless man) who stand in his way.  All the while, Monty has to juggle his mistress (she’s after more than just love), his fiancée (she’s his cousin but who’s keeping track?), and the constant threat of landing behind bars!

The one and only, Johnny Mathis, the voice of an angel, comes to the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts tonight at 8 p.m. with tickets starting at only $30. Best known for Grammy Hall of Fame classics Chances Are, It’s Not for Me to Say and Misty, the magical Johnny Mathis is Columbia Records’ longest-signed artist, recording more than 80 albums and scoring 50 hits on Billboard’s adult contemporary chart. Says Barbra Streisand of his smoldering voice and enduring style: “There are a number of good singers, a smaller handful of truly great singers, and then there’s Johnny Mathis.”
