Join Stonewall National Museum & Archives on National Coming Out Day for A Taste of History National Coming Out Day fundraiser honoring LGBTQ History Month at the historic Stranahan House Museum from 6-9pm. Guests will enjoy tastings from local restaurants including BSQUARE, Kilwins, New York Grilled Cheese, PinkSub, SideCar Kitchen, and What the Pho?, an open bar, raffles and more. Tickets, which also includes a tour of the Historic Stranahan House Museum, are $50 in advance at stonewall-museum.org or $60 day of event.

The MDGLCC would like to invite everyone to “Havana Music Hall”, a SOCAM (Support Our Cultural Members) at Actors Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre (280 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables). An exciting world premiere, Havana Music Hall reflects the pulse of our community with its irresistible musical beat and heartwarming story centering on Cuban musicians Rolando and Ramona Calderon, and their lives in Cuba from 1958 to the present. Just as their local Havana band is about to get its big break, the Revolution tears apart the only world the duo have ever known. This moving and relevant new musical explores the challenges and joys of one family’s 50-year odyssey for survival, presenting a journey which immigrants of all cultures from around the world have traveled for generations. The Pub presents Menergy: Leather, a social and dance party for those into leather and kink, and featuring VJ Marky Mark and demos by NBB (Natural Born Breeders). The night will also be a benefit for Bear Bones Smart Ride team and will feature a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and demos.

Saturday, October 13

The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Broward County residents to participate in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The Walk will take place at Nova Southeastern University, 301 College Ave., Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. This is a family and pet friendly event. Register today. The Manor in association with Alexey Roude present another one of their famous Zone Parties, this time starring DJ/Producer Maco Da Silva (Los Angeles) in the ballroom. The night will feature circuit productions, star dancers and a massive stage design. In addition it will feature a large VIP area overlooking the hot action with snacks, fruits, seating and a private bathroom. Inside the Ivy Dance Room and Patio, Noche Latina Saturday’s features special guests Estephania St. Lords and Angie Ovahness, along with guest DJ Ricardo Torres and sexy Latin Go-Go Papi’s.  Saturdays at the Manor is from 11pm to 4 am and feature NO COVER before midnight (FL Res) and only $7 for members after midnight and $10 for non-members (18-20 – $12 all night).

SAGE of South Florida proudly presents: The Florida Grand Opera Studio Artists performing an afternoon of arias from the four operas to be presented in their 2018-2019 season at 2pm in the main hall of The Pride Center located at 2040 N. Dixie Highway in Wilton Manors. The concert is free, open to the general public and plenty of free parking will be available. Light refreshments to be served after the performance. Spirit Day is a means of speaking out against LGBTQ bullying and standing with LGBTQ youth, who disproportionately face bullying and harassment because of their identities. Pledging to “go purple” on Spirit Day is a way for everyone — forward-thinking companies, global leaders, respected celebrities, neighbors, parents, classmates, and friends — to visibly show solidarity with LGBTQ youth and to take part in the largest, most visible anti-bullying campaign in the world.

Georgie’s Alibi/Monkey Bar’s 21st Anniversary

They will be celebrating their 21st anniversary from October 10th to 15, and the festivities include: Wednesday, October 10 – a special “Duets” show with Antonio Edwards and LeNore Jaye featuring songs from the last 21 years. On Thursday, October 11 (national Coming Out Day), they feature a special anniversary “What’s The Tea” hosted by Amanda Austin. On Friday, October 12 they feature house DJ AJ Reddy with Reynaldo on the drums and Noche Sucia in the side room with a special anniversary show and contest hosted by Teresita La Caliente. On Saturday, October 13, Drag Brunch features cast members Rianna Patrone, Sharde Ross and Kitty Meow with special guests Missy Meyakie Le Paige and Anjila Cavalier, and at night they feature DJ Alex Ramos at 9pm. On Sunday, October 14 they have DJ Mike James for T Dance and their Divalicious show at 11pm hosted by Daisy with special guests T-Lo Ivy and Carmen Adore with a throwback to 1997 theme. They will also be giving away free anniversary T-Shirts every day and night!

Tony Award-winning actress, singer and performer Idina Menzel who reached superstardom on Broadway with her Tony Award-winning performance as Elphaba in the blockbuster Wicked and in her Tony-nominated role as Maureen in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Rent, is set to release her upcoming album, idina: live, on October 12. The two-disc album was recorded live on the final nights of her 2017 World Tour.

idina:live captures Menzel’s power and emotion as a live performer as well as the special relationship she has with her fans. From Rent’s “Seasons Of Love” to Wicked’s “Defying Gravity” and Frozen’s “Let It Go,” this record is a collection of her most iconic songs performed live.

Menzel’s prolific recording career includes multiple cast albums and solo albums: Still I Can’t Be Still, Here, I Stand, Barefoot at the Symphony and her latest, 2016’s idina., produced by Eric Rosse  and Greg Wells. Her 2014 release, Holiday Wishes, a Christmas album produced by Grammy Award-winner Walter Afanasieff, was met with rave reviews. It debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Holiday Albums chart and broke the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart. Menzel received the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award at Billboard’s annual Women in Music event and recently completed a worldwide tour that included Asia, the UK and North America. Menzel also sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLIX.
