ArtsUnited Celebrates 20th Anniversary with ‘Dancing with the Divas’

ArtsUnited, recognized for its 20 years of bringing quality art and culture to South Florida, will celebrate in style on Thursday, May 30, at 7 pm with “Dining with the Divas,” an exciting evening at Lips Fort Lauderdale, the ultimate in drag dining.

The exclusive night will include the chance to mingle with celebrity hosts: Richard Gray, GFLCVB Senior Vice President Diversity & Inclusion, Keith Blackburn, GFLGLCC President/CEO; Jane Bolin, newly elected Oakland Park Commissioner; Nik Harris, LGBTQ Consumer Advocate at Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services; and Founder of SMART Ride and Proprietors of Bona Italian Restaurant Glen Weinzimer and Mark Byrd.

Lips diva, Nicolette will be the Hostess-with-the-Mostess who will lead the dragalicious fun. There will be a special appearance by longtime ArtsUnited supporter Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis. A special performance is planned by Lightship Studios’ Andy Perrott and Louis Pedraza.

Guests will enjoy a scrumptious dinner and an unforgettable show featuring Lips’ fabulous Divas. The celebrity hosts may make a special appearance dressed up as his or her favorite Hollywood movie star/diva. Attendees are invited to dress up, too, with a contest for who is the fiercest star of all!

The cost per ticket is $55 and can be purchased at Artsunitedflorida.com. Net proceeds from Lips’ Dining with the Divas benefits ArtsUnited. Valet parking is complimentary.

About ArtsUnited …It is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the support and promotion of primarily, but not exclusively, LGBTQ artists in South Florida. Our members enjoy monthly events (also open to the public) that showcase individual artists’ talent and creative spirit in a variety of art disciplines. They have produced over 400 visual art exhibits, brought nationally recognized LGBTQ performance artists to town, and created Ribbons for the Children —an annual art exhibit and auction that helped raise over $350,000 for local children and families impacted by AIDS.
