The Pride” at 7pm at the Studios of Key West (533 Eaton St.). Two parallel love stories are set 50 years apart. At the center of these stories are Phillip, Sylvia, and Oliver. The Lavender Scare is presented by the Key West Film Festival at Tropic Cinema (416 Eaton Street) at 8pm. The Lavender Scare is the first documentary film to tell the little-known story of an unrelenting campaign by the federal government to identify and fire all employees suspected of being homosexual. This ban went on for 40 years targeting the LGBT employees in American civil service. This documentary features the grandfather of the LGBT movement, Frank Kameny. BAM and KAT’s R U Wet Pool Party at 12pm at Alexander’s Guesthouse (1118 Fleming Street). There is a $10 donation at the door to benefit the Gay Straight Alliance at Key West High School. Key West Pride Uni-Crawl – starts at 1pm at I.C. Doubes (203 Duval Street). This is the first annual Pride Fest Uni-Crawl! 50 Shades of PRIDE – takes place at 9pm at SideBar (504 Angela Street) with Music (DJ Deranged & DJ Kyd) and Cosplay. The event is hosted by Robert Frost & Mistress K

Purgatory Party – is at 10pm at Bourbon St Pub, and this is a Men’s only event!

Sunday, June 9

MCC Pride Service – at 10am at 1215 Petronia Street

Unity of the Keys Pride Service – at 11am at 1011 Virginia Street

HOT Naked Pool Party – takes place at 12 noon at Island House. This is a men’s only event.

Gay Trolley Tour – at 1pm at the corner of Angela and Duval. The tour offers a look at Key West’s rich gay and lesbian history as well getting you familiarized with the area. You’ll see where literary greats like Tennessee Williams and Elizabeth Bishop lived; locate the original site of the great gay club, the Monster; and learn about the impact gays and lesbians have had on the culture, politics and economy of the Key West. PRIDE Parade Viewing Party – at 4pm at the Tree House (505 Greene Street). Admission is $20, and includes first cocktail of your choice and unlimited pizza from 4-5pm.

Pride Karaoke – takes place at 4pm at 801 Bourbon Bar.

Tea Dance takes place at 4pm at La Te Da (1125 Duval). This will be followed by the check presentation of Stoli Key West Championship Charity.

Bingo starts at 5pm at 801 Bourbon Bar.

Key West Pride Parade – this is a not to be missed event as it is always a BLAST and starts at 5pm down Duval Street.
