The Detroit Auto Show is arguably the largest automotive showcase in the world.  Automakers from around the world descend on Detroit in anticipation of catching the eyes of auto enthusiasts everywhere. Automakers often debut some of their most important products to the world and it happens in sunny Detroit every January. It looks like this will be the last year for the show in the winter as plans are underway to move the show up to June (hurray, two shows this year!)

The show’s headliners were the 2020 Toyota Supra sports coupe, Cadillac XT6 luxury crossover, and Kia Telluride SUV. In fact, I was so excited about the Telluride, I ordered mine ahead of time and have been driving it for three months now and I love it. Who knew?

Nissan and Infiniti showcased concepts of future electric vehicles, while Lexus debuted a concept version of their LC sports coupe.

After more than 20 years of eager anticipation, fans can now purchase the fifth-generation 2020 Toyota GR Supra at Toyota dealerships across the country. The all-new Supra features an exhilarating blend of power, precision, and agility. It pays homage to its predecessors with its twin-scroll turbo charged in-line six, rear-wheel-drive design, low center of gravity, and optimal weight balance.

I have been driving SUVs’ since the 80’s, from Jeeps to Jaguars and I have never been more impressed by a crossover. Telluride is the first Kia designed and built specifically for the U.S. and is a product of the Kia Design Center in Irvine, CA. From the first pencil stroke it was meant to convey the kind of presence associated with the original legendary SUVs – big, bold and boxy – and the go-anywhere, do-anything attitude their square, burly-shouldered shapes suggested. The Telluride’s sophisticated exterior accents also hint at its interior luxury.  No wonder it is the 2020 Car of the Year!

2020 Subaru Outback

The Subaru Outback has always served as a smart, practical alternative to sedans and SUVs. With more cargo space, off-road capability, plus more sportiness and a more compact size than a 3-row SUV.    Outlook has become the company’s best-selling model. The 2020 Subaru Outback may look similar the model it replaces, but underneath is an all-new model, with a new platform, new structure, an upgraded base engine, a new optional engine, additional tech, and greater refinement.

2020 Hyundai Sonata

The 2020 Sonata gets a huge makeover outside and inside, a more efficient base powertrain and new high-tech features. The 2020 also marks a return of the Sonata’s design mojo. Hyundai will also add a redesigned Hybrid to the lineup in 2020. Hyundai has come a long way and this all-new mid-size sedan that offers a lot of family-friendly features for the money when compared to back-to-back with rivals.  I think this car is far and away the best value for money in it’s class.
