Since its inception in 2017, CommuniTea Dance, one of the Arsht Center’s community-engagement initiatives, has been a safe and joyous event for the entire community to celebrate Pride.

This year, the community is invited to kick things off at the new and free Pride Marketplace, hosted on the Center’s Thomson Plaza for the Arts. On Saturday, June 26 from 3 to 7 p.m., guests of all ages will be able to peruse and support a curated selection of local LGBTQ+ artisans, creatives and small businesses while enjoying food and drink specials and tunes by DJ Hottpants. Families are invited to partake in fun arts-and-crafts activities with free, limited-capacity Pour Your Art Out workshops throughout the afternoon.

For those looking to extend the fun, CommuniTea Dance also features an evening of performances beginning at 6:30 p.m. where the audience joins the artists on the Center’s Ziff Ballet Opera House stage.

The event features a stellar lineup of South Florida-based LGBTQ+ artists, including DJ Citizen Jane, choreographers Alaina Anderson (of Miami City Ballet) and Randolph Ward (creative director of RTW Dance Productions), plus a soul-inspired rock ’n’ roll concert by Patrick & The Swayzees that will make you twist and shout!

The audience will be socially distanced while comfortably seated at tables of up to four guests on one of the largest performing arts stages in the country.

Close out National Pride Month with an intimate evening celebrating local LGBTQ+ music and dance at the Arsht Center.

Limited tickets, $15 each, are available for purchase at ArshtCenter.org.
