ArtServe (1350 Sunrise Blvd) presents Superficial Impressions, a photography exhibition from today through August 21. They will be showcasing original works by a variety of South Florida photographers. The Temple Emanu-El Cultural Arts Center and Miami Beach Music Festival Orchestra will present Console the Soul, an interfaith musical gathering in support of the victims and families of the Surfside condominium collapse. The gathering will take place at 8pm at Temple Emanu-El, where they welcome the community into a space for unity and healing. The evening will consist of soothing classical music interlaced with inspirational texts from their religious community leaders including Rabbi Marc Philippe (Rabbi of Temple Emanu-El), Reverend Juan J. Sosa (Pastor of St. Joseph Church Miami Beach), and Rabbi Fred Klein (Greater Miami Jewish Federation). The Washington Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to announce the “WAVE Fashion Show” – Pink Influence, at 7pm. The Fashion Show is part of the positive transformation on Washington Avenue (WAVE), Miami Beach. The show will spotlight Resort Wear and “A Touch of Euphoria” during Swim Week Miami Beach. The show will feature 6 Designers, 24 Models, an 80-foot runway, Pink People, and the entire block on Espanola Way between Washington Avenue and Collins Avenue. Watch designers like Lila Nikole, House of Athletes, Soledemar Beachwear, Rosmio, Mursrswag, and notable guest designers fashion paraded on historic Washington Avenue.  Charity: Washington Avenue BID adopted Silent Victims of Crime, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to empower children of incarcerated parents in Florida by providing educational enrichment, social support, and positive mentoring. SVC’s goal is to mitigate the risk factors associated with incarceration and help these children succeed in life.

The Miami Improv presents Comedian Carlos Mencia from today through July 11. Mencia began his career doing stand-up on amateur night at the world renowned comedy club, Laugh Factory. He later showcased at The Comedy Store and became a regular, performing nightly. Mencia continued his journey up the comedy ladder by headlining “The Three Amigos” tour with Freddy Soto and Pablo Francisco in 2002, which sold out in record time around the United States. In 2002, “Mind of Mencia” went into development. Flockfest takes place at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park from 11am to 4pm and is presented by Hunters Nightclubs and their media partner It’s Happening Out TV and Hotspots Magazine. The Aventura Arts and Cultural Center presents The Motowners, the definitive Motown Tribute show. The Miami Improv presents Television and film star Damon Wayans in his “Just Sayin’ Tour” today through Sunday, July 18. Wayans is known throughout the world for his comedic genius and is most fondly remembered for the Emmy Award winning series “In Living Color” where he created sketch characters like Homey the Clown, Handiman, and Blaine from Men on Film. His writing for the series earned him personally two Emmy nominations in addition to the show’s nominations. Damon also co-created, starred and executive produced the hit series, “My Wife and Kids” which is currently in syndication worldwide and received numerous awards. Lake Worth Playhouse Looking for Volunteers

The Playhouse needs volunteer stage managers, assistant stage managers, costume assistants and various crew positions for their upcoming mainstage and black box seasons. Perfect for theater students or recent theater grads looking for hands on experience and the opportunity to work with industry professionals.
